General Questions
What types of pods do you offer?
We manufacture a wide range of indoor and outdoor pods designed for different ways of working, meeting and relaxing. Our range includes Meeting Pods, Outdoor Pods, Meeting Booths, Phone Booths and Work Booths, with different sizes, configurations and levels of enclosure available. Our Meeting and Outdoor Pods are available in different configurations and can accommodate between 2 and 8 people, while our Phone and Work Booths provide dedicated spaces for individual working and calls.
Where are your pods manufactured?
Our pods are designed and manufactured in the UK, with our manufacturing facility based on the Isle of Wight.
We are a design-led manufacturer and manufacture many of our products using recycled materials wherever possible.
Can I customise my pod?
Yes. Customisation is one of the key benefits of choosing a Meeting Pod Company product. Depending on the product, you can customise elements such as exterior colours, fabrics, internal finishes, lighting, power, furniture and branding. We can also create bespoke designs for projects that require something outside of our standard configurations.
Our in-house design and manufacturing teams can work with you to develop a solution that suits your space and requirements.
Can you add our company branding?
Yes. We can incorporate custom graphics, colours and branding into selected products. If you have a specific branding requirement, speak to our team and we can advise what is possible for your chosen pod.
Can I choose different colours and fabrics?
Yes. Many of our pods offer a choice of exterior finishes, upholstery, acoustic fabrics and other material options. The options available depend on the product and configuration you choose.
Choosing the Right Pod
Which pod is right for me?
That depends on how you intend to use the space.
Meeting Pods are ideal for collaborative meetings, breakout spaces and team working.
Outdoor Pods provide flexible external spaces for work, meetings, hospitality, education, leisure and more.
Meeting Booths provide a more enclosed and private meeting environment with integrated seating, table and acoustic features.
Phone Booths are designed for individual phone and video calls or focused work.
Work Booths provide a larger individual workspace with seating and a fixed desk.
If you’re unsure which product is right for you, our team can help you find the best solution for your space.
How many people can your pods accommodate?
Our range includes products for individual use through to larger collaborative spaces. Our Meeting and Outdoor Pod ranges are available in configurations from 2 to 8 people, while our other products are designed for more specific individual or smaller-group applications.
Can your pods be used for purposes other than meetings?
Absolutely. Our pods are used to create a variety of spaces including meeting rooms, private offices, quiet working areas, breakout spaces, learning environments, hospitality areas and outdoor retreats. The modular nature of our products means they can be adapted to suit a wide range of environments.
Acoustic Performance & Privacy
Are your pods soundproof?
Our pods are designed to provide acoustic separation and reduce unwanted noise, helping create quieter and more private spaces. However, the term “soundproof” can be misleading. No pod can completely eliminate sound transmission in every environment.
The acoustic performance of a pod depends on the product, configuration, surrounding environment and how the space is installed.
How good is the acoustic performance?
Acoustic performance varies between our products and configurations. Where acoustic testing or certification is available, we can provide the relevant technical information and specification documents. If acoustic privacy is particularly important for your project, we recommend speaking to our team so we can help you choose the most suitable configuration.
Can I use a pod for confidential meetings or phone calls?
Yes. Our enclosed products are designed to create more private environments for conversations, meetings and focused work. For particularly sensitive or confidential applications, we recommend discussing your requirements with our team so we can advise on the most appropriate product and specification.
Outdoor Pods
Can your Outdoor Pods be used all year round?
Yes. Our Outdoor Pods can be specified with features designed to make them suitable for year-round use, including insulation, double glazing, heating, cooling and power options depending on the configuration. The level of specification required will depend on how and where you intend to use the pod.
Are Outdoor Pods weatherproof?
Our Outdoor Pods are manufactured using weather-resistant materials and are designed specifically for outdoor environments. Different configurations are available, including open, part-enclosed and fully enclosed options.
Can an Outdoor Pod have electricity?
Yes. Outdoor Pods can be specified with mains power, and selected configurations can also be supplied with solar power. Power requirements vary depending on the configuration and equipment required, so we recommend discussing your requirements with us before installation.
Can an Outdoor Pod have heating and air conditioning?
Yes. Heating and cooling options are available for suitable Outdoor Pod configurations. The appropriate system will depend on the size, enclosure level and intended use of your pod.
Can I install an Outdoor Pod in my garden?
Yes. Outdoor Pods can be used in a range of environments, including gardens, commercial premises, hospitality venues, schools and other outdoor spaces. Our Outdoor Pods are typically classed as permitted development, which means planning permission is usually not required. However, requirements can vary depending on the size, location and intended use, so we recommend checking with your local planning authority if you’re unsure.
Installation & Delivery
Do you deliver and install your pods?
Yes. We offer delivery and installation services, with the exact arrangements depending on the product, location and project requirements. Our team can discuss delivery access, installation requirements and any site-specific considerations with you before your pod is manufactured.
How long does installation take?
Installation times vary depending on the product, size, configuration and site. We will provide information about the expected installation process as part of your quotation and project planning.
Do I need to prepare the site before installation?
Some preparation may be required depending on the pod you choose. For example, Outdoor Pods may require suitable foundations or a prepared installation area, while electrical requirements may need to be considered before installation. Our team can advise you on the requirements for your specific product.
Can you help with foundations?
Yes. Foundation requirements vary according to the Outdoor Pod size and configuration. We can provide the relevant foundation information and technical documentation to help with site preparation.
Can the pods be moved?
All of our products are designed with flexibility in mind. Our modular Meeting Pods can be moved or reconfigured, while specific products are designed to facilitate movement using suitable equipment.
If you think you may need to relocate your pod in the future, let us know when ordering so we can advise on the best configuration.
Power, Lighting & Technology
Can I add power sockets?
Yes. Power options are available across a number of our products, including mains power points with USB and USB-C charging. The exact options depend on the product and configuration.
Can I add lighting?
Yes. Different lighting options are available depending on the product. Options can include integrated LED lighting, track lighting and premium decorative lighting.
Can I add AV equipment?
Selected pods can be specified with technology and AV accessories. If you require screens, video conferencing equipment or other technology within your pod, speak to our team so we can discuss the available options.
Sustainability
Are your pods made from recycled materials?
We use recycled materials wherever possible in the manufacture of our pods. For example, our Meeting Pods are manufactured in the UK using recycled plastic bottle tops, while our Outdoor Pods use recycled and weather-resistant composite materials.
We are continually looking at ways to improve the sustainability of our products and manufacturing processes.
Are your pods recyclable?
We design our products with sustainability and material recovery in mind. Our current goal is to have at least 90% of pod materials recyclable by the end of 2027.
The exact recyclability of a pod will depend on the materials and specification selected.
