The Vision
Starting with a completely blank canvas, the client’s vision was clear: create a private, enclosed meeting space that offered privacy without feeling disconnected from the surrounding open-plan office. The design needed to blend seamlessly into the large, industrial-style environment, complementing its exposed structures and modern finishes while still feeling warm and inviting.
45 Degrees
To achieve this, we positioned the room with a cornering wall at a 45-degree angle, cleverly cornering the wall to allow uninterrupted circulation around the space while still preserving its footprint. This angled approach also created a natural landing bay for transitional baffle beams, giving the structure a sense of flow while maintaining its rigidity. Building from an existing low wall, we utilised our partition glazing system to maintain transparency, manage costs, and maximise natural light flow.
Smart Ceiling
The ceiling design was a key feature. An open slatted ceiling allowed for discreet airflow and easy access to the building’s pre-installed air conditioning and sprinkler system, all while creating visual depth. Between the timber slats, we installed custom-made recessed LED lighting, providing a warm, even glow that softened the industrial aesthetic.
Intelligent Workspace
Acoustic wall panels were integrated into the design, adding a vibrant pop of colour and contributing to sound control within the space — perfect for confidential meetings. A custom media wall became a focal point, incorporating integrated AV equipment alongside bespoke scribble boards, offering both a practical presentation space and a creative brainstorming area.
End Result
Navigating the existing busy ceiling infrastructure challenged us to play with varied heights and lighting arrangements, resulting in a layered, visually engaging finish. The end result is a meeting room that feels both private and connected, functional yet stylish, and perfectly in tune with its industrial office surroundings.
